Hi,
The initial steps are exactly the same for Oracle Inventory in Discrete Manufacturing.
The difference is in the Organization Parameters window: It is required to flag the "Process Manufacturing Organization". The default accounts are required too, however they are not used.
Best regards

I am new to this Blog....Can any one send me all the Setup Docs for OPM R12...
I think there is no Sys Admin Setups in R12....If so then how to set up Inv and Warehouses....
If I am wrong plz correct me and send the required Docs with screen shots if possible...
thanks

Hi Prabhu
In R12 there is no more OPM Sysadmin. The Inventory has been converged. It has common inventory and there are no more IC tables. The inventory has been moved to Oracle Inventory with MTL tables. There are no more warehouses instead only Inventory Organizations. There are no more company, instead Operating units and no more set of books instead Legal Entities and so on...
You need to create an Inventory organization in Inventory Responsibity and just flag it as a Process Manufacturing enabled. There are no more GMI, GME and GMD profiles and instead we need to configure the same in Product development security manager responsibilty for GMD and in production supervisor for GME profiles.
R12 is more flexible and convenient compared to 11i. MAC has been replaced with a robust SLA.
Do be in touch with me if you need more details.
Cheers

Hi
You need to define the Fiscal Policy in OPM Financials and then attach the cost type and cost calendar to the legal entity.
Also the ledger is to associated to the cost type in fiscal policy. Make sure you open the costing periods of the cost calendar before defining the fiscal policy!!
Do get back to me if you need any clarifications or mail me @ rameshbvm@yahoo.com

Ramesh
