Dual unit of measure is used where you wish to transact in 2 units of measure.
For example our finished goods items (those we sell) are typically defined with a primary unit of measure of EA (eaches) which relate to a pack of (for example) 30 tablets. We might split the pack when taking samples or testing retain samples so we also wish to transact in tablets. So we have a secondary unit of measure of Tablets where (in this example) there are 30 tablets per Each
