license Plate numbers in OPM

i saw in a thread someone mentioned using LPNs in OPM but I can't find any reference to them in the user guides except in Shipping?

In OPM, prior to Rel 12, LPNs are only supported in Shipping for OPM. I have worked with clients that are using the sub lot number as a unique number, similar to how a serial number might be used. Then they have transactions where they can enter the sub lot number only and transact. THe item, warehouse, location, qty1 and qty 2 are all defaulted to the quantity on hand for that sub lot. It streamlines the transactions.
Oracle doesn't have these sub lot triggered transaction, you need to go to 3 Party or create yourself.
