My company is looking for some ingenious ways to reduce costs in our Supply Chain. The disposition of our assets assumes a lot of risk, but could save us a lot of cash if we manage it properly, I think. Am I on the right track here?

Yes, you are on the right track. The key is to maintain absolute control over the data so you can properly manage your operations or partners that help you recover value from your returned goods. There are some bad stories about recyclers who dump the material - damaging the environment and the brand - but there are many good companies who will help you recover value if you choose to outsource the process.

I think you are on the right track but it is also about income protection and brand integrity. Asset disposition allows companies to recover and protect the value of assets on the market. Once the disposition is determined, the company can be more effective in identifying and conducting business with buyers interested purchasing returned goods of various disposition categories. As such options for high levels of asset recovery are increased. In addition, management and control aof the asset disposition process vis-a-vis automation allows a company to assure high levels of brand integrity in the marketplace.
