Dear All
I'm in the middle of a business case in which during batch creation material shortage must be handeled.
Some of the materials in the formula exist in shortage then the system won't allow the batch to be released. Moreover the other part of the material in the same formula if exist in shortage then the system allow the batch to be released.
In other words the formula contains primary and secondary packaging materials.
When releasing a batch, the system must ensure that there are no shortage in the primary packaging materials, if there are then the system will not allow to continue releasing a batch.
However if the shortage exisits for the secondary materials in the same formula the the system can pass this and the batch can be released.
How can this matter be solved.

Hi Swiza

At the time of releasing a batch, the system checks the inventory shortages and throws a caution message. However it does not restrict you to release a batch. In any process industry, a batch can be released even without the inventory but you will not be able to transact the material if there are any shortages (provided you are not allowing any negative inventory) This is a standard functionality and I fear that it is not possible to prevent the relase of a batch from pending state.

Hope you understood the concept, If you need any clarifications pls mail me rameshbvm@yahoo.com.

Thanks.
