Securing Windows in Product Development
Owner Organization Access Provides Security
Windows used to define operations, routings, and validity rules are affected by this
security enhancement. Users who do not have organization access to the owner
organization of an operation, routing, or validity rule cannot edit and save changes
to the windows listed in this topic. The System Administrator or Security Manager
controls editing privileges by assigning users to the owner organizations they need
to access. Each of the windows listed in this topic validates the user access to
available organizations listed on the User Organization table. If the current user
does not have access to the Owner Organization, then the data on the window is
restricted to query only. Otherwise, data can be queried and edited.
Recipe editing privileges also restrict changes to existing step material associations.
Edit text associated to routings, operations, recipes, and recipe validity rules can be
restricted so that the associated edit text is query only. Users can only update global
and local recipe validity rules when they are granted user access to the recipe
owning organization.
Securable Windows
In addition to formula security, security is available for these windows:
■ Operation Details (GMDOPRED.fmb)
■ Operation-Activity Line (GMDOACLN.fmb)
■ Operation Activity Resource Line (GMDORALN.fmb)
■ Routing Details (GMDROTED.fmb)
■ Routing Step Line (GMDRSTLN.fmb)
■ Routing Step Dependencies (GMDSDPED.fmb)
■ Recipe Step/Material Association (GMDRSAED.fmb)
■ Recipe Details (GMDRCPED.fmb)
■ Recipe Organization Details (GMDRCOED.fmb)
■ Recipe Validity Rules (GMDRVRED.fmb and GMDRVRSM.fmb)
■ Routing Designer (GMDRTDSG.fmb)
■ Routing Properties (Routing Designer) (GMDRTDSG.fmb)
■ Routing Preferences (Routing Designer)
■ Routing Step Properties (Routing Designer) (GMDRTDSG.fmb)
■ Recipe Designer (GMDRCDSG.fmb)
■ Recipe Properties (Recipe Designer) (GMDRCDSG.fmb)
■ Recipe Preferences (Recipe Designer)
Securable APIs
Following are securable APIs:
■ Routings API - GMDROUB.pls (GMD_ROUTINGS_PUB)
■ Operations API - GMDOPRNB.pls (GMD_OPERATIONS_PUB)
■ Recipe Details API - GMDPRCDB.pls (GMD_RECIPE_DETAIL
■ Change Status API - GMDPSTSB.pls (GMD_STATUS_PUB)
To secure product development entities:
1. Navigate to the User Organizations window.
2. Assign any number of organizations to a Username. These assignments are the
basis for access to the Owner Organization listed on product development
entities. Once assigned, the user can work only with the organizations
authorized.
3. Save your work.
